Since I was going to be on planes and waiting in airports this week, I decided to try some digital scrapbooking so I could still get some pages done. Here is what I worked on. None are "finished" as I'd liked to tweak them a bit but... for my first attempt ever at doing pages, I think I didn't do too bad. I used pictures from 2006 that I have never had time to get back to so I am really happy they got done.

Not so X-masy...
Okay, these colours suck but they are as close to X-masy as I could find. I need to figure out how to design a blog heading so I can make this more festive :)
Oops, long time...
Okay, I have been busy and not much new scraping wise to share. I have been working on loading my laptop with digi stuff lately. I am off to Toronto on Saturday for a conference and I wanted a way to scrapbook on the planes and in the delicious quiet of my hotel room at night :)
I love my family but... 4 days of quiet, being responsible for only me and no one to wake me up in the middle of the night... Having a break once in a while makes me appreciate how lucky I am to have them when I go home! I am going with 2 girls from work and we have plans to do Eaton Centre one night, try to go up the CN Tower (which I never did even living in ON for 12 years) and we're going to go to "Austraila" (the movie).... I am so excited. They are even looking into the possiblity of a VERY quick drive down to the Falls. (down and back in 3 hours!)
BUT... the best part of this trip... I get to see my BFF of 25 years (we met when she was 6 and I was 7) Billie!!! We met at the ice cream man on the corner of Cowan and Cedar Sts in Orillia ON and have been friends ever since :) Even though I moved to BC when I was 12, we have kept in touch all these years, been in each other's wedding and we always seem to know when the other really needs us. Billie even knew each time I had my kids - she called me to say that for some reason all the night before she had felt she just had to get in touch with me. And both times, I had given birth the night before and just arrived home from the hospital.
Anyways, I PROMISE, to share my digi creations with you when I get back. And... I have been finding so much free supplies and tutorials all over the web that I could get addicted to this :)
Have a great weekend everyone and I'll be back late next week.

My LONG Card....
A quick one today. Here is a LONG card I did for a challenge at Lil Scrappers. I worked last night on getting my room into shape. I am far from done but I can walk in there now and had enough room to whip this up. It is on a clear card base that I folded lengthwise and I stamped in white Staz-on with a SU star stamp.
Have a good one!

Christmas ornament
Hi, someone left me a comment asking how I did the ball Xmas ornament. On the crop, Carla "the amazing" did a great tutorial up for all us with pictures and written instructions. Her blog is on my list to the left.... she posted the tutorial on her blog last week and you can find it there. Thanks to Krista for looking! You were my first comment (and Carla was my second, who is my card making hero! If you can tell me how you get so much done.... I would idolize you, LOL!!!)

What a week!
Last week was chaos in my house with our basement carpet finally being installed. We had to move almost everything from our basement (800 sq ft of stuff) upstairs somewhere. I had to pack up almost my scrapbooking stuff (which is a LOT of stuff) and move it all upstairs. Thank goodness for my MM embellishment center and my rail system... that stuff I could leave on the wall.
The carpet was finished by Friday afternoon, then... back down with all the stuff over the weekend - now that we have lovely warm carpet! Here is a picture of my new scrap mess (I mean room).
And in the middle of all this, I had an all-day crop at a friend's place to try to prep for. I was on my living room floor with about 3 feet of room trying to prep something the night before. I got these three layouts done (and finished another pre-done layout I had gotten from Creating Keepsakes KOTM). I can't say I am super thrilled with them but... I am happy to have them done as the kids birthdays are 2007... I just couldn't do 2008 until I finished 2007!
I also got part of my mom's Xmas present done too... but since she might look on here... I'm not posting it! :) Sorry MOM, LOL! I will say, I think I came up with a really great idea for her for Xmas and not only do I think she will love it, it is also a present she can use as intended and then use again and again and again... okay, enough harassing my mom :)
That is it from me. My plan tonight is to GET ORGANIZED and then get back to work. If I want to try to enter the Lil Scrappers Guest Designer contest, I have to get "crack-a-lackin'" on that, ;)

The last 5 challenges... I finished!!!!
Here are the last five challenges. I worked on these, with only a short dinner break, from 5pm to midnight. But I got them done!
Carla's Ad Inspiration challenge: use the ad she posted as inspiration for your page, either the theme, colours or layout. I used the colours and fall theme.
Aimee's Happy Anniversary challenge: use the #5 and then groups of 5 (like 5 pp, or 5 embellies). I had: #5, 5 stars, 5 pp, 5 photo corners, 5 tiny alpha stickers, 5 green rhinestones (hard to see - look on left side of scalloped border) and 5 pictures. I used the supplies in my Becky Higgins School Expansion pack... I LOVE this page! I hated these pictures but now I think he looks cute... thank you BECKY!!!
Carla's Ad Inspiration challenge: use the ad she posted as inspiration for your page, either the theme, colours or layout. I used the colours and fall theme.
Aimee's Milestones challenge: scrap a milestone in YOUR life, I picked turning 30. You had to have metal on the page - I used the studded flourish and a metal brad on the clock. You also couldn't use pp! That was hard. I did use a journalling box... I hope that wasn't cheating!
Aimee's gift card challenge: make a card or other project to jazz up giving a gc to someone - I'm using this for someone on my Xmas list :)
Last one....
Michy's interactive card: I made the card folded and then you pull out the insert. I am thinking of altering this and making it so the insert will fit a 4x6 picture for my Xmas cards. I have tons of scraps to do this style! Much easier than it looks.
That's all for me today. Two very late nights working on this but I am pleased with the results. I managed to use the challenges to scrap some pictures I had wanted to get done, learned some new techniques and had fun! And I did all of these off a folding table in my living room... we are having to move all the basement upstairs in prep for our carpet going in next week! I was up and down, up and down needing ink or flowers or a pen or this or that... but I still had fun!

Only one more today... 5 more tomorrow!
Here is the last one I have a picture of today.
This is Michy's "3 Takes" challenge. She gave us a sketch and we had to make 3 different cards. I challenged myself to use the same pp and cardstock but make the 3 look different. I love the one with the felt photo corner the mostest... (good grammar)
These are all from the Lil Scrappers 5th Anniversary Online Crop this weekend. http://www.lilscrappers.ca/ You need to register in the forum and then when you scroll down near the bottom, you'll see that as a thread. Inside is all the individual challenges.
Also, see my blog list on the left side for Carla, Michy's and Aimee's personal blogs.
Have a great one everyone! I'll be back tomorrow with the rest of the challenges (I hope!)

Back again
Well, there seemed to be an issue with me "looking" like a spam account but this is working again so I guess they believe me.
I am setting this up to post cards, layouts and other creations to share with friends and other bloggers challenges. I hope to get this looking more like "me" over the weekend.
Happy Howl-o-ween.......

Well, I did it. I started a blog... don't know where this will take me but it should be fun along that way. Stay tuned for cards, layouts and general musings.
