October Afternoon Layout

Here's a layout I did using almost exclusively October Afternoon pp, diecuts and alpha stickers. It is the 5 things I'd like to do before "2009" kicks the bucket!!

On-line crop and do you feel....??

The online crop at Lil Scrappers starts at 3pm (PST) Can't wait! The last one I created so many fabulous pages, cards and projects (see older posts) that I could hardly believe it. You just need to register for their forum (www.lilscrappers.ca) and the look for the 2009 crop topic once you're in there. Great group of DTs and members and the store owner Bev is wonderful and helpful.

On a completely different subject: Last night, I had a super frustrating night. I was down to my last piece of photo paper, I was struggling to pick pictures for a LO and finally was ready to print them off. And then... the printer printed them all funny and orange. I was ready to start crying and had to just turn it all off and walk away. Do you even feel so frustrated during the creative process that you do this? Just walk away...

What I should have done was clean up, put away scraps and left myself a clean, open space to be creative in today (after I'd picked up more photo paper and figure out what is up with my printer). Next time I'll have to remember that this IS a process and sometimes it doesn't go well. Maybe I'll learn something new and amazing about my printer... maybe I'll learn to pre-print pictures from Costco (but I love resizing and doing pages on the fly so I really hope I learn something about the printer). My point is that I needed to follow my general life philosophy (learned after having 2 boys 23 months apart) "take a deep breath, clean it up and move on".

Second BOM page done...

Did this one last night! I was hemming and hawing about what to put on it... it would have been so hard to pick one thing so I didn't :)

Cause the journalling is too small to read it says:
1. Traveling 2. the beach, water, sunshine 3. dark chocolate 4. STARBUCKS (it's in big caps like that too) 5. reading, books, history 6. flowers 7. online shopping ... in no particular order...

That's is from me... I am prepping now for the retreat, working on my first card for Deanne (yay) and attending the online crop this weekend at Lil Scrappers.

The pink is gone, thank goodness

Sorry, that pink was horrible but more Valentine's Day-y... now I can move back to the pretty green. I NEED to learn how to design my own header so I can customize this... any help out there?

ANOTHER LO!!! Wowza and holy cow...

I am hot, hot, hot with getting stuff done right now... at the expense of not running for 2 weeks... oops :)

This is inspired by Sketch #3 of Got Sketches 103 class! Fabulous sketch by Valerie Salmon. The class is awesome and my only regret... I didn't find out about these so I could have taken 101 and 102 when they were first offered.

2 new LOs and ANNOUNCEMENT!!

2009 is my scrappy year... I have gotten more done in Jan/Feb than I did all of last year (NOT, including retreats as I get an entire album done then). Even though it is Monday and I stayed up WAY too late last night to finish this teeth LO, life is good! BOTH of these LO (wow) are 2009 pictures so I am super excited to have them done already.

I signed up for Got Sketch 103 - a class with 2 sketches and 2 "tips" per week for a month. It is a super great class, and everyone on there is friendly and, in my world this is wonderful, OVER-enthusiastic about scrapbooking. See my blog roll on the side for their site. The ladies there are awesome.

The DS page is from Sketch 1. I even used her theme as her daughter loves her DS too. The "Garret, what happened to your TEETH?!" page is from Sketch 2. I took a bit more creative license with this one but... it is still very recognizable as her sketch.

LAST, but certainly NOT least, for those of you I didn't tell, I was asked to be on the Card Design Team over at Just My Sketches (see blog roll) and I am super honored and excited. Deanne does a fab job of rolling out both card and LO sketches twice a month. What her blog for my debut March 15th!!

Some cards...

Did these last night... all the basic cards are the same (green base, circle mat, stripes with edge and beigey strip), then I altered them for three separate uses. A birthday card, a Good-bye card and a thank you card. A fun challenge.

Snow Much Fun

I did this layout last night... this was done with the kit from my ls and I find the background paper a bit blah but... overall, I got the pictures done so chalk me up to having one 2009 page actually done :)

And here is a picture of my scrap room all cleaned up finally and my dh put my Lisa and Becky rail system up in this room for me yesterday too(yay!!) I am so happy to have it back... sigh, love this thing! Now I need my Clip It Up (see the two over flowing baskets on top of my scraps file cabinet). Then to get my Ikea tables.... we are down to Vancouver in March and I am getting the first one- it will go in that right side corner for my computer, printers and Silhouette. The next two will just continue down this entire wall and give me a huge work area. After that, some shelves up over the rail system, some pictures, a pretty curtain, etc... give me time and this will be a pretty work area or an "atelier" as I saw on someones blog this weekend! I love that name. I'm getting sign made that says "Jen's Atelier"
